Who it’s for: Lawns that are already in pretty good shape but need consistent, professional care to stay that way.
If your lawn is mostly grass (not weeds), you’re generally satisfied with how it looks, and you just want reliable treatments that keep it healthy without overthinking it, DTL Essentials is built for you.
What’s included:
Step 1 (Early Spring): Balanced slow-release fertilizer to wake your lawn up, plus pre-emergent crabgrass control and broadleaf weed control.
Step 2 (Late Spring): Nitrogen-rich fertilizer for strong spring growth, broadleaf weed control, and season-long grub protection using chlorantraniliprole (the safest, most effective option available).
Steps 3 & 4 (Summer): Balanced fertilizer enhanced with biologicals and sea kelp to support turf vitality through heat and drought. Spot treatment for any active weeds.
Step 5 (Early Fall): Recovery fertilizer to help your lawn bounce back from summer stress, improve color, and strengthen roots heading into peak fall growing season.
Step 6 (Late Fall): Quick-release winterizer to load your grass with nutrients before dormancy, plus targeted control of broadleaf and winter annual weeds.
What to expect: A healthy, well-maintained lawn that looks good all season. Consistent green color, reliable weed control, solid stress tolerance. You’ll have a lawn that looks clean, cared for, and stands out from the competition — all with very little thought on your part.

DTL Fresh Start — The One-Year Reset
Who needs it: Lawns that are overrun with weeds, new construction properties with more dirt than grass, or neglected lawns that need serious intervention.
Here’s the truth: if your lawn is 50% weeds or worse, you can’t just fertilize and hope things improve. Fertilizing weeds only makes the weeds healthier. You need a complete reset, and that’s exactly what Fresh Start is designed to do.
The strategy: Aggressive weed elimination + premium aeration and overseeding + soil health rebuilding.
Fresh Start is a first-year transition program. We’re not trying to maintain what’s there — we’re cleaning it out and building something new from the ground up.
What happens each phase:
April through June: Balanced fertilizer, crabgrass prevention, broadleaf weed control, organic soil enhancers (carbon-rich humates to rebuild soil biology), and grub protection. We’re setting the foundation and starting to improve soil health.
Late July/Early August (Fresh Start #1): Undesirable grass control treatment begins. This is where we start cleaning out crabgrass, nimblewill, bentgrass, and other grassy weeds that don’t belong. The lawn will bleach temporarily. Don’t panic – it fades in about two weeks.
Two weeks later (Fresh Start #2): Second undesirable grass treatment to catch anything that survived the first pass. Light fertilizer and biologicals for stress relief.
September (Fresh Start #3): Double-pass core aeration and overseeding with our premium 4-way tall fescue blend. We use a mantis tiller in the worst spots, add topsoil where needed, and make sure every seed has perfect soil contact. This is where the magic happens.
One to two weeks after seeding (Fresh Start #4): Final undesirable grass treatment to eliminate any stragglers, giving your new perennial turf a clean slate to flourish.
November: Quick-release fertilizer to push fall growth in the newly established turf, build root mass, and set you up for an incredible spring green-up.
Why it works: You can’t overseed effectively if the lawn is full of weeds. The weeds will outcompete the new grass every time. Fresh Start removes the competition first, then installs premium turf in ideal conditions. It’s the only way to go from a mess to a lawn you’re proud of in one season.

Disease control: Preventative fungicide treatments during peak disease pressure (summer). Brown patch, dollar spot, pythium – we stop them before they start.
Surface insect protection: Chinch bugs, sod webworms, crane flies, armyworms – if it feeds on grass blades, we’re controlling it before you ever notice damage.
